Starting 6 July 2026, a minimum version requirement will be enforced by the backend for Tosi Client on desktop platforms (Windows and Mac). This change ensures improved security, stability, and compatibility across all services. Note, this does not impact to Tosi Client on iOS and Android.
What’s Changing
- Tosi Client version 4.4.1 will be the minimum version required.
- Versions of Tosi Client older than 4.4.1, including those named Tosibox Key, are no longer supported.
- The backend will actively enforce this requirement.
- Users running an unsupported version will encounter an error message: “Too old client.”
- Access and functionality will be blocked until the client is updated to a supported version.

Required Action
- If you are already running Tosi Client version 4.4.1 or newer: No action is required.
- If you are running an older version: You must upgrade your client to continue using the service after July 1, 2026.
Updating Your Client
- Tosi Client includes an automatic update feature.
- If your client prompts you to update, simply accept the update notification to install the latest version.
- Alternatively, find manual install instructions here: Helpdesk - Tosi desktop Client for Tosi Key software - Tosibox Service Portal In some cases it might be necessary to remove the old software and reboot the PC before installing the newest version.
To avoid service interruptions, we strongly recommend updating your client ahead of the enforcement date. Staying up to date ensures you benefit from the latest features, performance improvements, and security fixes.
